This year we decided to start a new tradition and head over to Europe on Christmas Day! The airports were empty, the lines were nowhere to be seen, and the whole family was excited to leave on such a magical day. The original plan was to go skiing in the Alps (Chamonix), but we didn’t have enough time to see everything, go to museums, visit Munich and fly to Geneva, so we decided to spend more time in Paris. Next year might be a different story…
Day Trip to Sunny Versailles
Drive Back from Versailles
Sunset/Late Night Pictures
On this trip we managed to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Sacré Cœur, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dame, Versailles, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Saint Chapelle, Montmartre and Musée d’Orsay. We did it all in five days. We walked over 6 miles a day with two little kids (6 and 9) with no stroller. We ate crepes, escargot, frog legs and tons of croissants. When we were leaving Paris, we asked the kids what the highlight of their trip was, and they both answered “The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre”.
One of our favorite meals was at Le Bistro Marbeuf. The waitress was a bubbly young lady and the ambiance was just perfect! This is where we ate the frog legs and they were delicious (Jude’s words).
Although this was not my first or second trip to Paris, I am sure I will be back again.
Paris, Je t’aime!
